Changes are a fundamental part of life. As the old saying goes, “The only thing that is constant is change.” All people go through different stages of change in their lives. Change happens during graduation, during the first or last day in a job, during a wedding, when a baby is born, and so on. Indeed, nothing and no one are exempted from changing and being changed.

Sometimes, however, it can be difficult to recognize or realize that you already need to make some changes in your life. Especially when you have already become accustomed to your current way of life, it may be quite hard to move forward. However, changes are often necessary to help you grow. You are not meant to be stagnant for the rest of your life. There are always better things that lie ahead of you, so you always have to be willing to accept changes.

It is when you are at the lowest point in your life that changes are needed the most. When you have hit rock-bottom, you need to prepare yourself for some total changes no matter how difficult or uncomfortable they may be at first. When you start to feel like your life is no longer moving forward, the only thing that you need is not acceptance, but a personal renaissance experience — an experience that will make you realize what or where you should be heading toward. To help you recognize or realize your own ‘personal renaissance experience’, below are some significant signs that tell you that you need to make changes in your life now.

You have lost sight of your goal

Having some goals and pursuing them are an essential part of living a meaningful life. When you have a goal, you tend to be always motivated to get up every morning and face whatever it is that life throws at you. However, sometimes, you may lose sight of your goal, especially when you are at the lowest point in your life.

Everyone experiences challenges and hardships in life. Life is not a walk in the park. When you allow these challenges and hardship to get the best of you, you may forget to take good care of yourself and your future. You may lose your passion and motivation completely. You may even think that you no longer have any purpose in life. When this happens, consider it as a sign that you already need to make a change. Try new things. Experience new adventures. Do the activities that you think you may love. Do not just let your potential be crushed without even trying.

Your environment has become toxic

Your environment is also a determining factor on whether or not you already need a personal renaissance experience. The things and people around you hold a great significance in the way you live. When you live in an environment where everything is light and positive — where nothing is burdensome and the people around always support and help you overcome your problems — then you tend to live a happy life. On the other hand, when you live in an environment that has become so full of negativities and toxicity, you tend to become loathsome and resentful yourself. This is a clear sign that you need to make some changes now.

If your family or friends are only there to antagonize you, and your environment only sucks the energy out of you, then perhaps it is already time that you move to a new environment. Look for a place where you will be valued as a person. Find new people who will help you grow as an individual. Do not allow yourself to be drowned by the toxicity of an environment. Your life is too precious to live it in a gas chamber.

You are constantly yearning the past

It is nice to look back and reminisce the past. Memories from the past are considered priceless treasures. They make you learn from your mistakes, and help you understand the present as well as the future better. Your past serves as a constant reminder of your progress in life. However, sometimes, constantly yearning the past can be problematic.

Being fixated on the past may signify that you have some unresolved emotions or trauma, or you feel like there is something lacking in the present. If this is the case, then you probably need to make some major changes in your life now. Always thinking about the past means that you are not happy with your present. You tend to compare the life that you have now with what you had before. This is unhealthy, of course. The present is the only thing that you have control over. You can no longer change nor go back to the past. The present is all you have now, and if you are not satisfied with it, then make a change! Search for your personal renaissance experience. Do not spend your precious days wallowing in the regrets of the past. Remember, you have the power to change the present, so change it.
